Marudhara Biological Park, Bikaner

Marudhara Biological Park, Bikaner
  • Minister of Forest and Enviorment, Rajkumar Rinwa laid foundation of Marudhara Biological Park in Bichwal region of Bikaner district in December 2015.
  • Biological Park, Bikaner will be spread over 445 Hectare land with budget of Rs. 36 core as Rs. 25 Crore was announced in Rajasthan Budget 2015-16 earlier.
  • It will be constructed as per guidelines of central Zoo Authority of India (CZAI). 
  • वन एवं पर्यावरण मंत्राी राजकुमार रिणवा ने बीकानेर से 11 किलोमीटर दूर बीछवाल क्षेत्रा में मरूधरा बायोलोजिकल पार्क की आधार शिला रखी और इस पार्क को इको ट्यूरिजम के लिए माईल स्टोन बताया। 
  • रिणवा ने कहा कि करीब 445 हैक्टेयर क्षेत्रा में 36 करोड़ रूपये की लागत से बनने वाले मरूधरा बायोजिकल पार्क के अस्तित्व में आने के बाद बीकानेर में पर्यटकों की संख्या में उल्लेखनीय वृद्धि होगी। 
  • उन्होंने कहा कि यहां पर विश्व के सर्व श्रेष्ठ श्रेणी का जू (चिडिय़ाघर) बनाने का प्रयास किया जायेगा। उन्होंने कहा कि सेन्ट्रल जू ऑथिरिटी ऑफ इण्डिया (सीजेडएआई) के मापदण्डों के अनरूप यह पार्क बनाया जा रहा है। 
  • उन्होंने बताया कि वित्तीय वर्ष 2015-16 के बजट में पार्क के लिए 25 करोड़ रूपये की घोषणा हुई है और जरूरत के मुताबिक और धन राशि उपलब्ध कराई जायेगी।

State Animals of Rajasthan - Camel and Chinkara

Rajasthan government issued a notification making camel as the State animal, a step aimed at checking the decreasing number of the 'ship of the desert'. With this, Rajasthan will now have two animals Camel and Chinkara enjoying the status of the state animal. "A notification in this regard has been issued," a state government release said. It was decided in July 2014 to declare Camel as Rajasthan's state animal and in July, the state government had cleared the proposal at a Cabinet meeting held in Bikaner. Now it is Official after Notification issued on 19th September 2014.  Camel is mainly found in Thar desert area of the state and provides livelihood to a large number of people in rural areas. The animal is slaughtered for meat and is also as part of sacrifice in some areas.

Sita Mata wildlife sanctuary, Pratapgarh Rajasthan

Sita Mata Wildlife Sanctuary is a wildlife sanctuary situated in south-east portion of Pratapgarh district (Rajasthan). The Sanctuary provides rich pastures for a variety of Deer that includes the Chowsingha and for Caracal wild Boar, Pangolin and Leopards. Sitamata Sanctuary is spread over the Aravali and Vindhyachal mountain ranges and is the only forest region where teak trees of building value are found. In this sanctuary, around 50% trees are of teak. Besides these salar, tendu, amla and bamboo bel are also found in abundance. The leopard, hyena, jackal, fox, jungle cat, porcupine, spotted deer, wild bear, four - horned antelope and Nilgai are the animals found in Sita Mata wildlife sanctuary.
The most conspicuous animal of the Sita Mata sanctuary is the flying squirrel which can be seen gliding from one tree to another after sunset. Its activities are nocturnal and during the day the day it hides in the hollow. The best time to see this squirrel is between February and March at Arampura Forest Guest House, when most of the trees shed their leaves and it is easier to spot the squirrel on the branches of leafless trees.
